Tony Bruno - internationally acclaimed guitarist, musical director, producer, songwriter, arranger & composer 

Tony is well known in the music industry as the music director and guitarist for multi-platinum and Grammy-winning artists including Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Cher, K’naan, Nena, Janet Jackson, Zayn Malik and Colin Hay. Artists, record labels and management trust Tony to bring his extraordinary musical talent to any show. He stands apart by blending his deep musical knowledge (his fellow musicians call him a “living jukebox”) with the artist he is working with.

As a music director, Tony is responsible for all facets of awards and TV shows, working closely with the artist and the audio and visual teams. “We try never to repeat ourselves on TV shows. It’s important, especially with social media. You’re basically giving your audience a small collection of videos.” He helped shape Rihanna’s live and TV performances and was instrumental in bringing her to superstardom, making him one of the go-to music directors in the industry.

Tony’s TV credits include: The Grammys, America’s Got Talent, La Voz Kids, X-Factor, the AMAs, The Letterman Show, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Good Morning America, Top Of The Pops, MTV Music Awards, VMA’s, TRL (MTV), Wetten Dass?, Hitparade, The View, The Today Show, Ellen Degeneres, and countless others. 

As a guitarist, Tony has played major concert venues and smaller rooms all over the world, touring with multi-platinum artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Joan Jett, Nena, Cher, Colin Hay, Anastacia and Michael Bolton. His talent also brought him to one other stage every actor or musician dreams to perform: Broadway. Tony played guitar in Rock Of Ages and is the musical director and lead guitarist in the Broadway hit Rocktopia. “On stage I'm a very aggressive player. Either "bring it" or get off the stage!” He then co-created Rock Me Amadeus with opera singer Alyson Cambridge, a new musical extravaganza where classic rock and classical music are brilliantly mashed up through his intricate arrangements. The cast is full of acclaimed, incredibly talented musicians and singers. The press has embraced the project and written extensively about it in anticipation of its arrival in a theater.

Tony has written and produced songs for top artists including Mandy Moore, Donna Summer, INXS, Colin Hay, Enrique Iglesias and others. His song Daylight in Your Eyes (co-written with Tommy Byrnes) for German artists No Angels is one of the best selling German single of all time and was 21 weeks #1 in the charts. From TV commercials and show themes to movie soundtracks, Together with long time friend Tommy Byrnes, he co-produced Alexa Ray Joel’s EP Tales From A Winding Tower, recorded in Woodstock, NY.

TV and film writing: Tony is a composer who writes original music for animation, television, film and stage, delivering custom character themes, underscores and arrangements on exceptionally tight schedules. He has always found a way to bring a perfect sound to all his projects. He wrote the original theme song for Nickelodeon’s The Loud House, adapted Billy Joel songs for the HBO documentary And So It Goes and composed its original underscore. His composing credits also include Forged in Fire, Tanked, Alaskan Bush People, The X Factor, America’s Got Talent, La Voz Kids, Popstars, Rihanna’s Gucci campaign, ESPN and CBS Sports. His film credits include Catwoman and A Walk to Remember.

Born and raised in NY, Tony made a name for himself in the NY music scene early on with his own bands. His band Saraya was signed to Polydor records and released two records including the hit “Love Has Taken It’s Toll.”

Tony currently lives in Brooklyn and Woodstock, NY with his wife Karin and his 19 year old son Hendrix. In his recording studio, Tony and his writing partner Tommy Byrnes are currently working on the music for a new Sci-Fi show for Amazon based on the characters and songs of Billy Joel amongst other projects.
